Why voice
Tapping through wallet UI for a routine send takes 6–8 steps. Voice takes one sentence. Hands-free works when you can't look at the screen — driving, cooking, walking. Voice also lowers the barrier for users who find dropdowns, network switchers, and gas estimators overwhelming. The interface gets out of the way.
How it stays safe
Voice never executes transactions directly. The AI parses what you said into an action, token, amount, and destination, then shows a confirmation card. You tap to approve before anything signs. If speech-to-text misheard a wallet address, you correct it before approving — not after the funds have moved.
How voice works in ChainATM
Hold the mic
Tap and hold the microphone button in the iOS app. Speech-to-text runs on-device.
Say what you want
"Buy $100 of USDC on Solana." Plain language — no syntax, no slash commands.
AI confirms
Google Gemini 2.5 parses the intent. A confirmation card shows the exact action, token, amount, and chain.
Approve to sign
Tap to sign. Transaction executes on-chain or via Coinbase on-ramp. Crypto lands in your self-custody wallet.
Frequently asked questions
What is a voice-controlled crypto wallet?
A voice-controlled crypto wallet lets you perform on-chain actions — buying, swapping, sending, and checking prices — by speaking instead of tapping through menus. ChainATM is the only major crypto wallet with native voice commands on iOS. You hold the microphone button, say what you want, and the AI confirms before executing.
How does voice work in ChainATM?
Open ChainATM on iPhone, tap the microphone, and say something like "Buy $100 of USDC on Solana" or "Send 50 USDC to alice.eth". Speech-to-text runs on-device, the AI (Google Gemini 2.5) interprets the intent, and a confirmation card shows the exact details before you approve. No transaction executes without your tap.
Is voice available on Android?
Voice is currently iOS-only. The Android web app supports text commands. Native Android voice support is planned but not yet released.
Is voice safe? What if it mishears me?
Voice never executes transactions directly. The AI always shows a confirmation card with the parsed action, token, amount, and destination — you review and approve before anything happens on-chain. If the speech-to-text misinterprets a wallet address, you can correct it before signing.
What languages does voice support?
iOS speech-to-text supports 30+ languages. ChainATM's AI handles English commands today; multi-language voice is on the roadmap. You can already chat with the AI in many languages by text.
Why use voice for crypto?
Voice is faster than tapping through wallet UI for routine actions, hands-free for situations where you can't use the screen, and lowers the barrier for users who find traditional crypto interfaces overwhelming. It also fits accessibility needs — visual interfaces are not the only way to use crypto.
